The Art Of Facilitation

The Art Of Facilitation

“Tain’t What You Do (It’s the Way That You Do It)”.

                                                                                          [Oliver & Young.]

In every profession there are practitioners, adepts and artistes. How is it that in the music profession for example, you have the exemplars and the maestros alongside those who are less talented? What is it that makes the difference? Is it innate, natural talent? Is it good luck and being in the right place at the right time? Or is it something else entirely?
There is one thing that does make a difference and a big contribution to developing virtuosity in anything we choose to do, and that is the way we do what we do.

The Art Of Facilitation is a dynamic model of facilitation which is delivered in a series of three, linked,  Professional Development Workshops valuable to those working in the fields of Coaching, Mentoring, Counselling, Educating, Advising, Leading, Developing Leaders, Managing, Supervising and Training Others. Delivered in a unique, experiential and highly interactive style.

Its great beauty is that it does not usurp or supplant any existing theory. It is a scientific, reliable, scaleable, easily accessible structure which enables practitioners to construct meaningful and adept interventions. It will enhance and support your preferred theory. It is easy to learn and can be put to use immediately. A deep, intensive, invigorating, experiential learning programme for professionals. Using it will make you a better practitioner—guaranteed.

Are You Ready For The Art Of Facilitation?

The Art Of Facilitation is for practitioners who have some experience in working with others, in any of the roles listed above. For practitioners who are comfortable with their theoretical base but want to deliver their interventions empathically and sensitively with maximum power, impact and effect. It is for practitioners who want to develop their resilience, stamina, courage and self confidence.

The Art Of Facilitation is an intensive, exciting, challenging and fun professional development programme, delivered in a series of hands on, experiential workshops, which will make you a better practitioner than you are right now, or your money back!

Change Is Compulsory.

Since change is ubiquitous in almost every organisation right now, the skillset needed to thrive is even more important than ever. Practitioners need more resilience, enhanced interpersonal perception, greater self-awareness, a higher degree of self-regulation, and top-notch skills at listening, communicating effectively, expressing empathy, including diverse perspectives, and making sound and wise decisions. The Art Of Facilitation provides skills that address these important capabilities which you can put to use immediately.

The workshop groups will be small yet mixed in terms of theoretical approach, experience and ability. There will be lots of practical, experiential ‘micro labs’ [a micro lab is a structured and focused exercise designed to highlight and practise specific aspects of the model]. This will give you and the other participants a wide range of examples illustrating how the model can be put to use in a range of different settings.

I have been teaching The Art Of Facilitation since the late 1980’s,  I continue to use it on a daily basis with every client and group with whom I engage. I use it in real time, live in the moment. It is a perfect diagnostic tool which can be used at every stage of an intervention. It is a valuable tool to aid reflective practice. It is invaluable in designing and delivering interventions.
