The Leader As Coach Programme
A 3-day intensive coaching skills development programme for managers
and leaders
The ability of managers at all levels to build effective and beneficial
relationships with their own team members and others within the
business is a key leadership skill. Building such relationships
through coaching encourages trust, collaboration, support and the
sharing of learning across the business.
Coaching is one of the most powerful tools available to organisations
to bring about improved performance, behavioural change and the
facilitation of learning. The Leader as Coach programme has to date
transformed over 500 managers into leaders of high performing teams
through effective coaching and relationship skills.
By attending the programme, participants will develop a range of
practical skills and understanding which can be used to strengthen
the way they manage their relationships and lead others. The Programme
will help them to flex and extend their management style to incorporate
effective, tried and tested coaching strategies. It will also increase
their awareness of the impact they have on others.
Programme Overview
The one thing that effective managers and leaders have in common
is a high level of self-awareness. We must first of all understand
ourselves in order to be able to understand and effectively lead
others.
The Leader As Coach Programme has as its foundation The Human Element
approach which is based on the FIRO Theory of Interpersonal Behaviour.
The model is accompanied by a suite of psychometric instruments
which are catalytic in raising our self-awareness. This approach
helps us to understand our behaviour, the impact we have on others
and how our self-esteem is the determinant of all we do.
The programme also introduces participants to John Heron's facilitation
model which will equip participants with a set of facilitation skills
that not only enable managers to facilitate the outcomes they desire
with confidence, it also offers a structured approach which is both
facilitative and empowering to those being managed.
