Facilitation - The Art of making
learning,
development and growth inspiring,
vivid, memorable and effective
Learning Edge Consulting has been delivering state of the art facilitator
training since 1987. We have a range of exciting open programmes
and can provide bespoke in-house consultancy interventions which
are designed to your exact requirements.
Our Facilitation Model is a unique, client centred approach to working
with individuals, groups, teams and organisations. Its aims are
to inspire, empower, teach, challenge, support and coach others
towards achieving and realising more of their human potential through
peak performance.
Advanced Facilitation Masterclass
Adept, skilled facilitation, provides clients, whether they be individuals,
groups, teams or organisations, with strategies for developing effectiveness
and excellence at work and in living. The outcomes include more
self aware, confident and capable individuals and teams, improved
relationships skills, increased personal and professional effectiveness,
motivation, enhanced cohesion and morale, greater profitability,
peak performance, and reduced stress.
Facilitate Peak Performance
Learn how to facilitate your individual clients to achieve peak
performance using our unique approach and facilitation strategies.
Groups Too!
The Group Is Greater Than The Sum Of Its Parts. This statement implies
that groups can achieve together much more than the respective members
can achieve on their own. Such groups do from time to time emerge
spontaneously, but more often than not they arise because they are
inspired to do so by effective leaders who facilitate the individual
group members in much the same way as great conductors facilitate
musicians to create sublime music.
Learning to be a Facilitator
Facilitation is a complex rather than a complicated process. Learning
to facilitate involves the development of many practical intervention
skills including; self awareness, an understanding of group dynamics,
the ability to be flexible over a range of intervention styles,
the ability to challenge, to confront, and to deal with relationship
issues including interpersonal conflicts as well as conflicts of
interest.
The Masterclass will teach you how to facilitate individuals, groups
and teams to become greater than the sum of their parts, using a
unique method based on John Heron’s Facilitation Approach
and the group dynamics approach created by Will Schutz.
The Advanced Facilitation Masterclass is a five day intensive and
highly participatory workshop for facilitators. The workshop will
provide an in-depth training in all aspects of facilitating individuals
and small groups, and will focus on and explore the qualities, competencies
and attributes successful facilitators require in order to achieve
excellence in facilitation.
The workshop will look in details at
• The structures, styles and models
required to facilitate effective events
• how to understand and work with
the group dynamic
• inclusion, control and openness
- FIRO Theory
• understanding and using the
Learning Edge Consulting Facilitation ‘Cube’
• facilitator presence, charisma
and authority
• facilitation as presentation
• authenticity, congruence and
integrity
• facilitator - self concept,
self awareness, self esteem
• motivation, empowerment, change
• patterns that get in the way
of facilitating excellence
• practice of facilitation and
feedback in the training group
• workshop design and implementation
Participation
The workshop will equip participants with practical facilitation
skills which can be put to immediate use. It is highly participatory
and requires a willingness from participants to examine their current
practice as facilitators.
Group size is restricted in order to ensure personal attention,
high quality facilitation and tuition.

Experiential Learning
Our interventions are activity based. We make great use of experiential,
action and accelerated learning techniques. All our interventions
are exciting and challenging. This helps to create memorable learning
experiences which encourage participants to practise what they have
learned. Our workshops are interactive, with a balance between experiential
exploration, skills practice and theoretical input.
The goal is to activate each single member of the group in ways
which stimulate not just hearing and sight but also emotions and
feelings.
