You may well know of us through our open programme of training and
development workshops for leaders, managers, coaches and facilitators.
You may not know that most of the work we do is tailor made to meet
the exact requirements of our clients. We specialize in Leadership
Development training and in training Facilitators
to run groups; our collective experience in this field is unrivalled.
Learning Edge Consulting has been running train the trainers’
programmes in all aspects of facilitation, from ‘one to one’
through to large group facilitation, for more than fifteen years.
More than 90% of our business is obtained by designing and facilitating
strategic business interventions and training and development workshops
for our clients. Some of our more recent interventions are described

Leadership – Compatibility and Productivity
The Profound Leadership Programme, created by Learning
Edge Consulting, utilises FIRO Theory. It asserts that all human
beings have certain fundamental needs which need to be satisfied
in their everyday interaction and relationships with others. If
these needs are not met, the resulting relationships will be less
than optimal. In a business environment this will often result in
individuals, teams and even entire organisations functioning at
much less than their full potential. The Profound Leadership approach
recognizes that the person best placed to facilitate compatibility
is the team leader. This approach seeks to impart the self awareness,
knowledge, confidence, skills and abilities which team leaders require
in order to create, sustain and maintain compatible and productive
teams.
Leaders at all levels of expertise and authority have benefited
from this programme. At the time of writing, well over 600 managers,
leaders and executives, from team leaders and first line managers
to Chief Executive Officers have experienced the Profound Leadership

Management Development Training Programmes
Managers who have been promoted through the ranks are usually promoted
because of technical proficiency, product knowledge, experience,
time on the job, or a mixture of all of these. The paradox is that
many of these individuals never receive the support of any formal
management training and can therefore struggle to achieve their
full potential as managers. Our training programmes are aimed specifically
at helping these individuals release their full potential with astonishing

Fundamental Interpersonal Relations Orientation
in Organisations
An intensive five-day residential development programme which enables
participants to learn how to effectively manage relationships in
organisations based on the world class Human Element FIRO measures.

the creator of the Human Element FIRO method to deliver the entire
suite of workshops.
Advanced Facilitation Masterclass
A five-day intensive and highly participatory workshop for experienced
facilitators only. The masterclass provides in-depth training in
all aspects of facilitating small groups and will focus on and explore
the qualities, competencies and attributes successful facilitators
need to have in order to achieve excellence in facilitation.
The Human Element
A range of psychometric questionnaires; administered to individuals,
teams and organisations to help them unlock more of their potential
and increase their personal and professional performance. Also internationally
recognized training programmes to enable facilitators to administer
these psychometric instruments to their clients.
Train the Trainers
A large number of development workshops and training programmes,
designed to the exact requirements of our clients, to enable in-house
training departments to develop their group facilitation skills
to the highest standards.
One to One Coaching
A number of long term interventions to provide one to one performance
coaching for junior and senior executives of a number of clients.
Company Profile
Learning Edge Consulting has been facilitating state of the art
personal and professional development programmes and consultancy
services to organisations, groups, teams and individuals since 1987.
Programme Director
Pat Young has been facilitating groups, teams and individuals for
more than 20 years. His experience includes facilitator development
and training at The Universities of Surrey and Bath, Sandwell College
and Birmingham Counselling Centre. He has worked as a consultant
to organisations in the public and private sectors specializing
in management development training, group and team dynamics, group
and individual coaching. He has a strong background in business
and management.
All our facilitators have many years of extensive practical expertise
in business and in their respective fields of facilitation and development.
All are professionally qualified and engage in continuous on-going
professional development. They are all Graduates of The Human Element
Programme and participate in ongoing in-house training and development
programmes. We ourselves use the models and techniques we offer
to our clients to manage and run our own company. Our work is based
on high standards of practice and ethics, which are defined and
monitored individually, through membership of professional bodies,
and outside supervision.
Dr Will Schutz is the originator of FIRO theory, FIRO-B, Human Element
Seminar and a new Generation of instruments called The Elements
